Polychrome :blabcat: (polychrome@poly.cybre.city)'s status on Friday, 10-Nov-2023 16:39:55 JST Polychrome :blabcat: February 15th 1999 was windows refund day.
A bunch of #Linux users gathered outside Microsoft's HQ to demand a refund for their copy of Windows 98 that was bundled with their new PCs since the license terms state that they can get a refund if they don't boot up Windows.
Unfortunately Microsoft said the refund has to come from the manufacturer, and the manufacturer claimed the refund has to come from Microsoft.
No refunds were issued that day.
I've re-encoded and attached the news reports from this website for easier viewing:

lol fedifriend (cat aspect) (samgai@vocalounge.cafe)'s status on Friday, 10-Nov-2023 22:49:23 JST lol fedifriend (cat aspect) @Polychrome Somehow none of the reporters used the word "monopoly" even once. They seemed to be framing it as a personal choice of a few people.
