A full report from NBC where reporter Jim Goldman explains about Linux and its spreading awareness, while also calling the protest a Linux promotional stunt. They show MS saying a refund can be easily obtained from the manufacturer and ESR stating that's a catch-22. Goldman finishes by saying protesters hope to create a groundswell to push MS into drafting a new licensing program, but with millions of copies already out and licensed MS has little to worry about.

February 15th 1999 was windows refund day.
A bunch of #Linux users gathered outside Microsoft's HQ to demand a refund for their copy of Windows 98 that was bundled with their new PCs since the license terms state that they can get a refund if they don't boot up Windows.
Unfortunately Microsoft said the refund has to come from the manufacturer, and the manufacturer claimed the refund has to come from Microsoft.
No refunds were issued that day.
