A full report from ABC where reporter Greg Gurule interviewed the protest demanding a Windows refund, explained what Linux is with close ups on a 90's PC running Gnome, and Microsoft's dismissive response that this is just a PR stunt for Linux. He caps it off by explaining how Microsoft and the stores throw the refund responsibility on each other so nobody gets anything.

February 15th 1999 was windows refund day.
A bunch of #Linux users gathered outside Microsoft's HQ to demand a refund for their copy of Windows 98 that was bundled with their new PCs since the license terms state that they can get a refund if they don't boot up Windows.
Unfortunately Microsoft said the refund has to come from the manufacturer, and the manufacturer claimed the refund has to come from Microsoft.
No refunds were issued that day.
