    @raymierussell @bitcrush_io @feoh I used a similar path in burning my discs although the audio in these modern discs aren't so good though. There's a website that describes it as mostly LaserDiscs and some VHS and DVDs have mostly better audio:

      I have always used MakeMKV to get the raw file from my Blu Rays and then Handbrake to encode. I do similar process for DVD except I use Smartripper to get the raw file (or straight backup onto HDD which can be read as if it were the disk sans DRM by Handbrake or VLC).
      What I have found is that you can extract subtitles and extra audio tracks such as Directors commentary very easily from DVD but not with Blu Ray.
