@ned Somehow this is worse than people reposting videos of people who committed suicide blowing their brains out on live streams. I don't know how that's possible but they somehow achieved it...
@Mr_NutterButter Blowing your brains out is honest. This is like a McDonalds chicken nugget. They go out of their way to make it glossy and appealing. While obfuscating it's resemblance as much as possible to a dead bird, or bringing your attention to the process that created it.
@Mr_NutterButter The thing about the dishonesty that drives me crazy is it fundamentally changes the way new generations of people think about the topic. If every one knew what was in a McNugget then we wouldn't be so obese. But Mcdonalds has other plans, and there is money to be made. Nobody is scared of water blasted chicken foam soaking in bleach. And with a suicide booth at your local GP, in a couple of decades people won't think twice of killing themselves after a bad day either.
@ned I think you described it perfectly. It's the idea of the dishonesty of such an action that rubs people the wrong way more than the action itself. That and everyday I'm getting turned into Ted kaczynski with these man-made horrors.
Cuz it's very clear even with the manipulation of how people grow up and different ideas people still have a fundamental human morality that seems to be rubbed the wrong way no matter what.
@ned also I am so afraid of this future that I am doing everything in my power to understand what gives someone the will to live or the motivation to do so.
I'm reading political philosophical work from the past and from the present and doing everything in my power to try and understand the meaning and the idea of a ideology that can prevent or go against this but I can't find any answer that's solid which is what's really scaring me is that there might not be one...
The closest I found on ironically has just been religion itself but people seem to blatantly be shaming it for some odd reason so that's not the question for right now at the very least.
