    From what I was able to gather from https://brid.gy

    * #BlueSky #federation through the #ATprotocol will be enabled sometime in early 2024

    * The #IndieWeb service #Bridgy is ready to handle bridge AT protocol and ActivityPub protocol posts and replies once federation is enabled in production (already working in sandbox test server).

    The format will be:
    1. To follow a #Fediverse account from BlueSky / AT protocol: <username>.<server_domain>.ap.brid.gy

    Example: @youronlyone.c.im.ap.brid.gy

    2. To follow a BlueSky / AT protocol user: <username>@atproto.brid.gy

    Example: @atp.youronly.one@atproto.brid.gy

    This allows users from each side to see new posts and to reply to these threads.

    What is more interesting is that, if you have IndieWeb support on your website or blog, you will see comments from BlueSky / AT protocol appear as a comment, thanks to #Webmention. It is already possible to do this with Fediverse / ActivityPub. ^_~

      @73ms It's

      <username>.<server_domain>.ap.brid.gy

      As an example, once it goes live on production, my BlueSky account should be searchable in the Fediverse as @youronlyone.c.im.ap.brid.gy

      ^_^

      At least based on the screenshots the Bridgy devs shared. (see: https://snarfed.org/2023-10-06_bridgy-fed-status-update-7 )

        Bridgy Fed status update
        from Ryan Barrett
        Another big milestone this episode! I now have fediverse profiles fully bridged into the Bluesky federation sandbox. That means profiles can now be bridged both directions, in and out of Bluesky. T…

      @youronlyone what about the other way around, how could a Bluesky user follow someone on the fediverse if federation is enabled and this starts working in production one day?

      @pax Why?

      And can you please clarify what is a "normal fedi server"?

      @youronlyone I hope that all normal fedi servers will #fediblock that.

      @pax I see.

      Well, that is up to each admin. As long as they know how to differentiate between #Bridgy as #IndieWeb and the Bridgy bridge for the #ATprotocol. If they block the IndieWeb Bridgy that's going to be the most misinformed thing they'll ever do.

      As for "normal fedi server", I thing that's very subjective. When is one "evil"? What constitute "racist"? And define "garbage".

      Does an instance from Africa by and for Africans racist because they normally use #negro? Am I racist if you see me talk about #KKK? What if an instance is trying to be as neutral as possible? And as moderators are mostly not paid thus there are few moderators in each instance, does it make an instance "not normal" just because they can't monitor every single post and take action against every report immediately?

      A few days ago I talked about how Ferdinand Magellan was, is, and never will be a hero contrary to the claims of Spaniards and his white supporters, am I racist then? But they are not despite his many victims and how he looked down on people especially those who are not white?

      That's like saying I am not #autistic because I don't look from the upper-right corner of my eyes, or doesn't flap my arms, so I must be "normal"?

      😃

      @youronlyone because this is next social platform which doesn't care about privacy, normal fedi server is, well, not centered around being evil or doesn't contain any racists and such garbage.

      @youronlyone well, racist is when you insult people because of their color of skin or where they come from.
      and if a server admins don't moderate every post, but react when someone reports, then it's stil pretty normal server.

      @pax That's reasonable. ^_^

      There are reports that are in the grey area and has to be taken on a case-by-case basis. I think the federation with #ATproto is the same thing.

      For example, you mentioned that your issue is #privacy in relation to #BlueSky itself? For sure there will be other instances within the #ATprotocol network that the #Bridgy bridge service can also communicate with. ^_^
