@mattl Well, I don't know numbers. Maybe it's more than half, maybe less. Either way, a lot of people have multiple screens, so it sort of changes the dynamic of this for those who do.

As a side note, I'm a real oddball even in this because I get all OCD about my second screen using something like 15 watts even just to idle (and I think something like 23 when gaming) so I keep an HDMI switch and just flip it to the off position so the screen shuts off and most of the time just use one monitor, then just turn it on when I specifically need it.

So I kind of have to go with both in that I keep multiple windows non-maximized and tab between them a lot, but also I do sometimes move some things to another monitor. It's complicated. 😁

A neighbor invites me out for drinks once a month. Two hours, two beers. Every time. It’s VERY rigid.

Nonetheless, the conversation flows. Despite some differences, I think maybe we are friends. Or developing as friends… in that stilted way that adult men do.

As I’m getting out of the car, he says “see you next month” and I now feel like a networked commodity, primed for whenever he might need me for something.

In my head, I hear myself think, “just leave the money on the nightstand…” ☹️

I agree, It is just a normal day for me, heading to work later, etc, main difference is the TV schedule will be end to end Donald Trump in auguration, then more repeat showings and 'expert' analysis of the situation. Repeat for most of Tuesday in case people missed their opportunity to hear him talk.

Thankfully I am not on mainstream social media, the TV has an off button and I have more productive things to do.

As with a lot of things the term 'blue Monday' is there to get people depressed as they are made in a subliminal way to think it is depressing, it is an opportunity to promote therapy or 'expert advice' ultimately make money from people.

    @pax I see.

Well, that is up to each admin. As long as they know how to differentiate between #Bridgy as #IndieWeb and the Bridgy bridge for the #ATprotocol. If they block the IndieWeb Bridgy that's going to be the most misinformed thing they'll ever do.

As for "normal fedi server", I thing that's very subjective. When is one "evil"? What constitute "racist"? And define "garbage".

Does an instance from Africa by and for Africans racist because they normally use #negro? Am I racist if you see me talk about #KKK? What if an instance is trying to be as neutral as possible? And as moderators are mostly not paid thus there are few moderators in each instance, does it make an instance "not normal" just because they can't monitor every single post and take action against every report immediately?

A few days ago I talked about how Ferdinand Magellan was, is, and never will be a hero contrary to the claims of Spaniards and his white supporters, am I racist then? But they are not despite his many victims and how he looked down on people especially those who are not white?

That's like saying I am not #autistic because I don't look from the upper-right corner of my eyes, or doesn't flap my arms, so I must be "normal"?

    😃

The silver lining in this is the joy you can obtain when you realise that they are like geese: they make a lot of noise, but if you make yourself look big and scream “go fuck yourselves!”, there isn’t a thing they can do.

As long as you never invite them in.

    So they’re also like vampires.

    Vampire geese.
