   @Shadowman311 Does evangelical just mean Christian? Ive never heard anyone self-identify as evangelical. Never even heard it used by anyone outside the internet and TV.

     Depending on where you live, yes. It's a type of belief loosely associated with contemporary Baptist spin-off denominations, at least as I'd describe it. Lots of very serious Christians with those beliefs, and some of them hold some pretty interesting views. I'm hearing it more these days from people, mostly online, for distinction sake mostly.

     @Dovahkiin @Shadowman311 in europe i think it often just means protestant...but in the americas it has to do with the subgroup of protestants that emphasize the being "born again" aspect of Christianity...like most methodists, baptists, charismatics, etc...

     @Dovahkiin @Shadowman311 @Godcast @SuperLutheran sometimes it's simpler than that...which groups of people talk about it the most...meaning specifically use the phrase "born again" more than other Christians...that's gonna be for me the litmus test of an evangelical denomination as it is culturally understood...
