note: the “games” i want to make are mostly just small 2d game jam entries, like mid-quality platformers and zelda-type adventure games. my pipe dream games are, in order of difficulty to pull off; a remake of the original atari Adventure game, and a 3d kart-racer with controls likening to the snes and gba mario karts.

It's excellent for 2D games, got good at 3D a few years back and keeps improving at a surprisingly high pace. It got a big support boost after the recent Unity mess and it's also an open source project so that's a plus. -
