   Striker has a pretty good take on the Israel situation:

   A full invasion of Gaza is going to be hard for Israel.

   If I had to guess, Hamas seems primarily dedicated to capturing prisoners because they plan to copy the highly successful urban defense strategy that Azov Battalion used in Mariupol.

   1. They will entrench themselves in dwellings on the street level, where they can fire on Israeli tanks and infantry from different angles — the roof and the basement.

   2. They will have captured Israelis tied up in every building, which may deter Israel from just leveling everything in the city. If the IDF bombs the buildings and kills the Israelis anyway, then this will be highly controversial and demoralizing for their supporters.

   3. Hezbollah is a real wild card. If the IDF is bogged down engaged in slow and difficult urban warfare in the South, this is almost certain to trigger an attack from the North. At this point, expect a direct, poorly planned and extremely unpopular (in the US) American intervention. Who knows what the hell happens next.

     @givenup @Shadowman311 Thing is, if the US gets involved they’re gonna have to pull troops from somewhere else. The military is already stretched pretty thin, and they aren’t meeting their recruitment numbers. They’d have to give up any pretense of being able to protect Taiwan from China if there were an invasion.

     I still can’t quite wrap my head around how the IDF got their shit pushed in by the aloha snackbars. The way they just fled and let their tanks and personnel carriers fall into the hands of their enemies. The experts said they were one of the best militaries in the world. I guess things have changed.

     @MeBigbrain @Shadowman311 @john_rando i guess, i mostly think "good" tho in all honestly a week from now if this is still an ongoing thing i'd be surprised, nothing ever happens, till it does. like i said earlier, deep down i hope this shit spirals out of control

     @john_rando @givenup From the outside looking in, Israel seems to be suffering from the same affliction every developed nation is facing, that their Youth despise the current state of the country and don't really see much future in the way things exist now, just look back to what happened there in July. Could be those men and women just went "fuck it, let em have em, I don't want to die for this country" and left their posts, it's chaos anyways not like anyone would really know.
