Now that I'm older, access to public restrooms is something I think about when I plan my daily walks. https://nu.federati.net/url/291745 [mass streetsblog org]

For September, 410,000 steps and 128 miles.

Interesting thing I found out while in EU, there are many places that have "public restrooms" usually in food places, but they also charge between 1/2 and 1 Euro per visit unless you make a purchase. Most of them have someone there to keep it clean but some are rather nasty.

There are also "public restrooms" in major city places. If need be, you can always enter a shopping mall with their free and mostly clean restrooms. Or you go to big stores and use their customer toilets for a small fee. Sometimes even a restaurant may allow you to use the bathroom if you ask politely. Anyway, it only emphasizes Walt's major point, that public restrooms are a necessity. And a sign of civility, as I would add.
