2.16.2, The Final Release – HexChat
    https://hexchat.github.io/news/2.16.2.html

    >Posted - 09 Feb 2024
    >
    >This week 2.16.2 has been released. It contains some small fixes and features that have accumulated over the past two years since the last release.
    >
    >This will be the last release I make of HexChat. The project has largely been unmaintained for years now and nobody else stepped up to do that work.
    >
    >I want to say thank you to all of the contributors, users, and chatters I’ve interacted with over the years. HexChat was a very important and formative project for me; I started contributing to it as a teenager, learned so much, met many great people, and it led to greater things in my life. It is hard to let go but the time has come for me to move on.
    >
    >I am going to move all data that I can to be hosted on Github, so all documentation, installers, and dependencies will be there until the end of Microsoft.
    >
    >Forks of the project are welcomed. Nobody can stop the code from living on.

    Somehow I missed this.

I can't find a source but for at least the past 10 (or more) or so years there has been at least a few days to couple of weeks where the temps are below 0F.

Found a source for 2010 to 2022, except for 2012 (+6F for a low of the year) they are all 0 or below.

I still use my 10 year old X360, not connected to the 'net, nothing disappears just because.

While I would like to get something newer, the requirements of being online almost all of the time and the fact that all(?) of the games are now download with subscription that can get revoked at any time keeps me away.

      Bussard ramjet
The Bussard ramjet is a theoretical method of spacecraft propulsion for interstellar travel. A fast moving spacecraft scoops up hydrogen from the interstellar medium using an enormous funnel-shaped magnetic field (ranging from kilometers to many thousands of kilometers in diameter); the hydrogen is compressed until thermonuclear fusion occurs, which provides thrust to counter the drag created by the funnel and energy to power the magnetic field. The Bussard ramjet can thus be seen as a ramjet variant of a fusion rocket. The Bussard ramjet was proposed in 1960 by the physicist Robert W. Bussard. The concept was popularized by Poul Anderson in his novel Tau Zero, Larry Niven in his Known Space series of books, Vernor Vinge in his Zones of Thought series, and Carl Sagan, as referenced in the television series and book Cosmos. Feasibility Since the time of Bussard's original proposal, it has been discovered that the region surrounding the Solar System has a much lower density of hydrogen than was believed at that time (see Local Interstellar Cloud). In 1969, John...

    https://www.theguardian.com/music/2023/dec/04/myles-goodwyn-april-wine-frontman-dies-aged-75

    >Myles Goodwyn, who fronted the popular Canadian classic rock band April Wine from its formation in 1969 until earlier this year, has died aged 75. His death was announced by his publicist, who did not give the cause but heralded Goodwyn’s “distinctive and immediately recognisable” voice and prolific songwriting.
    >
    >Goodwyn formed the band in Nova Scotia, after suffering the death of his mother to brain cancer as a boy alongside his two brothers. “Four males living under the same roof, but there were never any hugs, never any communication,” he later said of his home life. “We were four lost souls roaming around that household. So I took to music. It was music that saved me.”
