He's terminally online spending most days on twitter. He posted a video of him on his knees as a cowboy saying he was taking a break from the internet; lasted about two days I think.
@givenup@mrnpc@qwerty@Jim It's more of a fact than anything else. That's just reality at this point. Younger generations becoming increasingly vegan + people becoming more and more vegan = more vegan future = eventually vegan future when their voices and ideas and passion is inevitably louder and more important than "meat yummy"
I shit you not while watching this the news my parents are watching on the tv in the other room starts a segment about veganism growing in popularity, literally.
Just pulled out camera for proof lol
Goes to show what I'm saying it's true. It's like an agenda, really, also. Influencing and programming people, basically. It's the future.
Also lol my life with synchronized stuff like this. On god.
@givenup@mrnpc@qwerty@Jim Everything is already becoming vegan. The influence and push is already there. You can see it in younger generations who care more about the world, in general, more than previous generations. They understand more "sensitive" snowflake-type concepts, like be a good person, treat others and other living beings right. Take care of the world.
It's just natural progression of humanity and society. It's already happening.
@Jello@mrnpc@qwerty@Jim i firmly believe meat eating will not disappear unless a dystopian tyrannical government forces hte issue, and i don't support htat *shrug* again i'm looking at the current time line and preparing myself accordingly for COLLAPSE i don't think the future is bright.
@Jello@mrnpc@qwerty@Jim well i doubt there's ever gonna be the nightmarish "perfect" society that you prattle on about tbh, I am more confident that things are going to massively regress than move foreward, and i cant say i'd be looking forward to society as it stands moving "foreward" whatever hellish nightmare that would look like, but i will be raising goats adn chickens for milk meat and eggs in the future and htat's that.
@givenup@mrnpc@qwerty@Jim It's not nightmarish, there just wouldn't be meat eating lol. People can still have farms and shit, and actually would likely be supported because animal extinction if humanity continues taking all land.
So there isn't really anything different in that world. Just no real meat eating, no people having their conscious reality consist of work and labor where you have to kill animals and mutilate them.
Kinda depressing right? Why choose that vs not having to do that. I bet most (most) people who kill and butcher animals for food purposes don't particularly enjoy it or prefer it, just something you need to do or that is ideal at this time for them.
@givenup@mrnpc@qwerty@Jim It's cruel in the most common sense way, to me, because you are taking another beings life for selfish reasons, simply to eat meat, because you find it tastes good. Maybe for health purposes - but lol, cmon. In general, people eat meat because it tastes good and they're used to it. They like their burgers and etc.
It's like, imagine aliens kept us as farm animals - (yes there's a book about that that I've yet to read), imagine you being born on an alien farm and having your life taken from you to be a person's 10 minute meal.
As opposed to living a long, at least 10 year long life. Filled with hanging out with family, maybe friends, eating grass, hangin around lookin at the sunset, adventuring.
But nah, 10 minute meal.
You know, when you just think about it in this silly simple way, it's absolutely cruel.
But I understand what you're saying, again its like at our point in the timeline, our generations, I agree with you. I'm thinking more in the future, perfect ideal society and world. There would be no meat eating lol. We will have lab created meat or something advanced along those lines.
Surely you agree, let's say you have real meat vs EXACTLY perfectly constructed created meat replacement - not real meat, but everything exactly the same - taste, nutrients, whatever. Surely, you know it's more right or ideal to not kill living beings anymore. It would be evil to do so in that case because it's absolutely 100% unnecessary.
That's all my point really. Future things.
Like, even just the idea of eating living things and seeing butchered animals. The red, the gore, like... in a way, ideally, people shouldn't have to deal with that in a perfect world. It's just not a nice aesthetic.
@givenup@mrnpc@qwerty@Jim Yeah as it stands thats great and Im all for it. If youre a meat eater, which most people are, because we have been normalized to it, it's all that's ever been!
That is the most ideal situation and way of life.
In the future though, I understand where things are headed, vegan, starting with vegetarian. No more animal cruelty. And going on to eating meat being essentially barbaric and unheard of.
Whether it's to make money ultimately for big corporations with Veganism being best option, or because it's actually the right thing to do, or both.
But yeah, I like my chicken mcnuggets, from time to time lol. But as a millenial, I'm evolved to this level of "hmmm, meat is kind of gross and I could live without it if good options are out there and advancement in the health benefits"
Anyways... Sorry Zealist lol, farms are awesome, you're living the life.
@Jello@mrnpc@qwerty@Jim i don't believe it's cruel to farm animals, especially on a small individual scale, most small scale farmers can give the animal a nice life, then when it dies it's quick and painless and it's butchered for meat, most livestock have been selectively bred for generations to be helpless food animals that wouldn't survive without humans taking care of htem at all, so vegans have the choice of humanity bearing the burden of taking car eof these animals for nothing but some decent fertilizer for the rest of time, them mass dying off, or just letting people eat what they want and stop trying to moralize diets.
If you eat eggs, nothing is more perfect than owning chickens.
Plus they're cute and funny
Not to kill or eat though. I could never. If I really want meat I'll get at the grocery or restaurant lol, I don't want or need meat so bad that I'll kill my own friends.
@Jello@mrnpc@qwerty@Jim i plan to live like the grocery store doesn't exist in the future for hte practice, and only have the grocery store as a backup in the case of me failing hard, cuz one day it might not acutally exist, tho it's a good idea to buy sugar and flour least till i can get honey up and going, BEE FRIEND
@Jello@mrnpc@qwerty@Jim that's what i think, i got the cute chickens hanging out in their run i finished yesterday, they're still babies but they're growin' fast
@Jello@mrnpc@qwerty@Jim well i got chickens, ducks are a little more of a pain int he ass than i'd like to deal with in the long run, but there will be goats, and chickens galore, and beans, and potatoes, and various green vegetables and squash
@Jello@Jim@givenup@mrnpc@qwerty meat by itself is really overrated. like no dude, your "perfectly done medium-rare wagyu steak with perfect marbling" isn't all that great and is mogged by a shitty steak with a simple glace sauce
