     I just realized there's a wonderful symmetry to this, because before I had heard anyone say "dandelion" I pronounced it in a way that rhymes with "Evangelion".

     In my case I bought the DVD years before Fedi existed.

     I watched it and asked my friend "I think I got some botched version? There seem to be several episodes missing?", but my friend had a look and nope, I had a full version, the series just suddenly ends like that. 🤣

     @clacke I have only seen the first 2 movies of the retold version when they were out but never got to watch the 3rd one and the most recent one, I liked them but it was a bit of disappointment after being hyped from fans. @gemlog

     I don't know how to pronounce Evangelion (e-VAN-gel LI-on? E-van-GEL-eyon?), and I didn't know what anime was when I watched two or three hours of Dragonball Z with a nephew one night.
     
     It was just a long fight. I lacked context to know who was fighting or why.

     @clacke I've been in fedi since 2017, but manga was no stranger to me before that - I'm just not into it. One of my kids is deep into it. And a grandkid.

     @lnxw37a2 Dragonball, the first part was funnier more varied but when they arrived to Dragonball Z was just the same over and over 2fight, lose, training, fight, win". Rinse and repeat with a small addition, new fighter or a new technique, to make it a bit different. @clacke @gemlog
