It seems like removing the Lemmy spam logic in https://fedidb.org led to a few obvious lemmy instances with huge spam counts being treated as accurate.

@dansup Beehaw.org's admins also published a post last week moaning about their suggestions for improvement to Lemmy just not being taken up, and that the Lemmy devs are really slow to improve spam management, etc. Beehaw was contemplating forking off from Lemmy, or starting their own network (hopefully ActivityPub I commented).
@danie10 They should, lemmy honestly has no excuse.
If I can work on anti-spam mitigations in @pixelfed alone, surely they can come up with something between them.
