So I activated #ActivityPub on infullflow.net, but the user profile I created cannot be found when I search for it on Mastodon. Not sure what the problem is. Now what?
@sl007@elmine Can you share your blogs identifier with me? Maybe I can check for some common issues! You can also check your WordPress‘ site health page for some issues!
@pfefferle@sl007 Thanks for stepping in. The one related issue to ActivityPub says (in Dutch): Je auteur URL https://infullflow.net/author/admin/ geeft geen geldige JSON terug voor application/activity+json. Controleer of je hosting alternatieve Accept headers ondersteunt.
I figured this shouldn’t be an issue as I defined a site wide identification (blog@infullflow.net), but maybe that’s a wrong assumption on my side.
@pfefferle@sl007@bekopharm also pointed me at this and wondered if it was a plugin preventing that. My knowledge on this kind of stuff is very limited, though. Is it my installation or my hoster? And indeed my website has been slow for a while. Have been contemplating moving to a different hoster, but I’ve been with this company for a very long time.
just btw rant; Please note that webfinger is a mastodon thing, just a point of failure which is _not_ in the ActivityPub spec. cause ActivityPub does not necessarily force you to clone the twitter-handle style. :)
Yes, it seems that WebFinger is working when not using WebFinger.net. That’s good so far and the content negotiation seem to also work fine now (I don't know what you have done).
Maybe the server still blocks the requests from Mastodon, the same way as WebFinger.net?!?
@pfefferle@elmine@sl007 What is the expected response to the webfinger endpoint? (I fake the webfinger file on my zylstra.org domain so that I can be found by my e-mail adress, which then points to this account on my Masto instance.) So what is the actual reponse expected, what are the aliases it should reply with? Like if I search for @ton it gives back m.tzyl.eu/@ton and /users/ton, what is the equivalent actor's url in WP? I could fake it and see if that works
