There's a built-in book catalogue powered by Wikidata in collaboration with @inventaire
BookWyrm is part of the Fediverse and accounts on BookWyrm servers can be followed by people from Mastodon etc, for example @mouse is the BookWyrm founder's account.
Anyone (except corporations) can start their own BookWyrm server by installing the software, and there's a managed hosting service for people who join the top tier on Patreon (https://www.patreon.com/posts/64768354).

  The features are more like GoodReads, and this is just for discussing books rather than borrowing/downloading them.
  Also, last but not least, BookWyrm is part of the Fediverse so you can follow BookWyrm accounts from Mastodon etc. OpenLibrary isn't part of the Fedi at all.

  I think the latter is something the Fediverse should consider as not everyone has the time to maintain a server.

  @feditips @bookwyrm @inventaire @mouse You should add https://fedi.monster/ to the list as they host Mastodon & Pixelfed instances (latter includes mine). So far they were the only ones who could get Pixelfed to Federate.

  Hmm... I don't know.
  You can import data into BookWyrm from GoodReads, LibraryThing, StoryGraph, OpenLibrary and Calibre. It works by exporting a CSV file from these services, and then importing the same file into BookWyrm.
  If there's a CSV file export function on Kindle, maybe you could try importing that?

  By the way, Amazon owns Goodreads so maybe there is some way to export your Kindle purchases to Goodreads? If so, you can then move them to BookWyrm from there.
