@thomasfuchs this has been my favorite part about usb-c. ostensibly interchangeable, yet there are so many variations for power/data/video, and stuff just doesn't work if you grab the wrong cable.

Didn't realize at first it was actually DisplayPort-protocol-over-USB-C ... and that all my other usb-c cables were not compatible.

Still better than barrel jacks anyway.
