     Farmer types can as I understand it. Pretty lame to restrict guns especially over what seems in hindsight to be a really sketchy situation.

     TBH I'd rather have a competent smonarch than "democracy" in our current age. At least the blame can be pinned on one person who answers to and is accountable to the people.

     Like 20 or so years ago they held a vote to become an independent republic and instead they voted for the king. Not everyone can be saved.

     Ehh, you've got monarchies and bullshit monarchies, just like you've got republics and dEmOCrAciEs.
     Whether a country is a shithole seems almost orthogonal to how the government functions.
     However, every British colony is a complete wreck.

     Honestly, having a king as a head of state figurehead in the English commonwealth doesn't mean anything. It just means that you have the parliament passing whatever laws and then a governor general to rubber stamp the laws. If the king's governor general ever refused to sign a law, it would be a major crisis.

     We could always move away from common law. I'm a fan of spirit of the law over letter, because it makes lawyer tomfoolery into something that can be handwaved away by judge Gigachad.
