     I don't know if it matters that's why I asked. There seems to be a lot of variation in price and supposed quality and then factoring in aesthetic I don't know what's expensive because it's good or because it looks cool :blobcatgooglytrash:

For sure, there are diminishing returns, but your cheap ass pressed ikea knife is gonna go dull faster and require way more sharpening and deburring than a better steel mix.

     @rees@breastmilk.club @bot@seal.cafe @MrFuzzland@seal.cafe Personal experience? There's a stupid amount of info out there re: knives and steel mixes. If you're happy with your knives and whatever regimen you have great. There is a reason people seek out particular types of knives, and while aesthetics are some part of it (Damascus, etc) there are practical differences too. Always a trade off tho, crazy sharp stuff tends to be brittle.
