   What can be done to get this "detroit riot city" instance defederated posthaste? This doesn't represent Detroit in any way that I know of, and certainly doesn't belong with the civilized federation.

   One only has to look at the flashy gif at the top of their landing page to understand what's going on.

     I wish the kids would stop using it because someone got mad enough to add my instance to it and it's very very frustrating

     @stux @admin i believe they earned a block last fall. If I’m not mistaken, they are on most all of the basic blocklists so I do think the word is out. They seem to be somewhat active as I see the instance name on the fediblock hashtag pretty regularly

     @feld @admin @stux I can understand that. I think the supporters of it would say that anyone using them should do their own homework on each instance, but we all know that’s not what happens.

     No, what we were talking about is that people should audit every entry in the blocklist before applying it. Which is unrealistic

     Not really... Just download the lists, cd to /opt/fediblockwhatever/
     then execute
     grep -R <instanceURLwithoutTheBraces> *

     It'll tell you what files your instance shows up in.
