I actually falsely assumed, that the songs from the Three Penny Opera (Dreigroschenoper), like this one, Mack the Knife (Die Moritat von Mackie Messer), the Cannon Song (Der Kanonensong) or Pirate Jenny (Seeräuber-Jenny) were part of the German collective subconsciousness.
Probably, it depends on one's teachers in High School.

No, not now, but people who grew up with the Internet while still in their teens (at least), even though I'm aware that a stricter definition would be that you had to be at least 7 (begining to read) at the turn of the millenium, when the www became comon use for the general public, so max 30 now.
