   @MariaLiv @ElleGray @PINE64 Heya, unless you’re willing to tinker with it and possibly not have certain features work (perhaps ever), I’d warn you against getting a PineBook Pro. They’re amazing for the price and they could be perfect for everyday work but I was never able to get HDMI working on mine, for example.

   Pine64 make toys for geeks and they’re perfect for their target audience who love to tinker and figure out clever workarounds, etc.

     @ElleGray Have you looked at the products (computers, phones etc) from Pine? https://pine64.com/

     They are on Mastodon as well @PINE64

     @aral knows more about their products, if I am not mistaken :-)

     Thank you for reading this and for considering giving support. I'm mortified but really at the limits of what I can do alone.

     My extended family has recently been hit by devastating losses in both Lahaina and in the North West Territories. The people I'm responsible for has just increased from 3 to 7 more who have lost everything but each other and are now living with me.

     In this chaos, my laptop has been irreparably broken. All
