"discovered that there's basically no power or community in tankie or leftcom projects, anarchists remain the majority on the ground"
Total side note, sorry to but in, but fuck, I wish that were the case here. I'm in a college town and the only actual leftist organizing here is *literally* unironically Marxist-Leninist, and the majority of its membership is such as well. I'm one of the only two anarchists even here I'm pretty sure.
1) The anarchist milieu has been burning off shitbags for the last few decades, and a lot of these banished folks fled to leftcomism, marxism, postmodernism, etc
2) The Bernie wave produced a fuck ton of marxists who eventually discovered that there's basically no power or community in tankie or leftcom projects, anarchists remain the majority on the ground
3) A fuck ton of college kids got radicalized exclusively online and flooded into discords managed by the prior two
I dont fully get the meta of this with the different factions and the back and forth over time, and where things stand now, but what I could pick up from the plain language and historical and contemaparenous reference sounds right on, especially given some of my own kinda meta oblivious walk towards Anarchism that went through *sigh* Democratic Socialism.
Is there or could there be a meta primer on the factions and what theyre kinda about or are you really gonna press gang me into finding out first hand, heh heh heh
It's basically the normal insurrectionary anarchist milieu vs a bunch of snotty college kids chasing the pretenses of poorly worded french poetry.
For two decades Tiqqun (and the coming insurrection etc) was kind of a fringe joke thing in the US insurrectionary scene. Recently they've gained a number of adherents for basically three reasons...
I totally get what @rechelon means though in a spirit sense of it - where its like despite PSL and Socialist Advocate being able to muster for canvasses (i seen them with my own two peepers I have) it never ever feels like they are more than a strictly partisan organizational unit performing politics as they imagine it should be played, and it feels simulteanously overcooked and underwhelming, almost unbelievable that this is who is on the field as The Most Serious Partisans
