well most people are filled with parasites, including the obese.
its just the fact of how it is.
i haven't read anything that would deny that once i found quality literature on chronic obesity and parasites.
even skinny or thinner people have parasite problems. heck, i've been what most would consider a healthy weight (5ft 9 under 160lbs) for a decade, and still had parasite problems.
takes a few times to get em out but if you do the turpentine thing they come flying out and you'll have some super scary 'ejectus defecus'
i'm not a dr but it worked out for me. -

iced depresso (icedquinn@blob.cat)'s status on Thursday, 17-Aug-2023 17:55:39 JST iced depresso @modpod @tyil @galena @susie i think the mechanism they are going for is based around parasite/microbiome theories. trying to starve out undesirable microbes.
there's some interesting mainline science behind that concept like poop transplants causing people to start losing weight immediately with no other dietary changes. -

The most important thing I notice across all of those is "stop eating processed garbage", but that may just be me.

have you ever tried juice fasting?
to have your body fix whatever the underlying issue is?
from what ive read and understand you can fix all manner of health issues this way, and the body given enough time fasting will repair itself.
you'll also regulate weight if that's an issue. -

Susanna (susie@blob.cat)'s status on Thursday, 17-Aug-2023 17:55:50 JST Susanna @tyil @icedquinn @galena @modpod I just use normal small pot with a lid for popcorn. I buy "normal" popcorn, not microwave variety. Put some oil on the pot (I use basic vegetable oil. Olive oil burns at too low temperature), put the stove at maximum, wait for the popping to stop and turn it off.
That takes less than five minutes in total, requires no maintenance on my part apart and avoids added flavours and fat on instant popcorn. -

I used mine yesterday to steam some siu mai, and I often use it to steam rice as well. It's very comfy to have. It's not "instant" in any way, though, so I find that naming a bit of a misnomer.

i actually - get this - use a stovetop pressure cooker to make popcorn.
just put 1/4 cup into it, a little olive oil, some salt, a little red pepper or paprika or whatever you want for seasoning.
turn it on LOW, wait about 2-3 minutes, and out comes popcorn. -

tyil (tyil@fedi.tyil.nl)'s status on Thursday, 17-Aug-2023 17:55:56 JST tyil @icedquinn@blob.cat @galena@paws.moe I used to use a microwave for popcorn when I was a kid, but the popcorn popping machine I have was gratis, and it does actually do a much better job of getting everything popped whilst not burning anything either.
If I had to pay good money for it, I wouldn't have one. -
