     @fsf I hate nonfree school software.

     As someone from Virginia, I have to do the SOL test, and the only computerized way to do it is via TestNav, which is nonfree and literally owned by Pearson.

     They claim to have a GNU/Linux version (although it's still nonfree), but it's broken. I had to use a burner Windows VM to get it done. *sigh*

     I'm really annoyed by it, and I really want to be able to use free software for it.

     And no, doing the physical test is not an option for me.

     @fu @fsf I think a more realistic focus would be improving them, but yes, there really needs to be more competent school systems in the US.

     @fsf What would be a good alternative for a school age kid? I'm thinking of getting a PinebookPro and installing Armbian.
