@pjohanneson @violet C64 takes 2-3 seconds to boot. If you have cartridges that software loads instantly. From disk it takes 15s to two minutes or so depending on software.
As for cassette... well, you better have a coffee ready to drink.
Ahh, you mean the “Local timeline” feed of an instance?
That, I'm afraid, is dependent on the instance's software.
For example, you can do it with #Firefish (see: https://firefish.social) and #Qoto (see: https://qoto.org).
(See attached screenshots.)
* Firefish (formerly Calckey), is a fork of #Misskey. Misskey is a Japanese made #Fediverse software.
* Qoto is a fork of Mastodon, with more features than the original Mastodon software.
As far as I know, the mainline #Mastodon software will never add this feature (and was suggested a lot of times before).
I'm not sure which other Fediverse software have this feature. It's actually very useful in content discovery; and avoiding creating multiple accounts.
@fsf I hate nonfree school software.
As someone from Virginia, I have to do the SOL test, and the only computerized way to do it is via TestNav, which is nonfree and literally owned by Pearson.
They claim to have a GNU/Linux version (although it's still nonfree), but it's broken. I had to use a burner Windows VM to get it done. *sigh*
I'm really annoyed by it, and I really want to be able to use free software for it.
And no, doing the physical test is not an option for me.
