     @SuperSnekFriend @3hu @Yukari_Kajiwara @Groomschild This kind of thought has been thought about before, and in essence while some fringe cases are okay, overall it'd be bad if all the humans no longer feared youkai. The lack of fear is what started killing off youkai in the outside world (also guns, because guns kill everything). It took an entire manga series of deliberating and overthinking everything before they even dared include Kosuzu to get along with yokai normally, and she was just one girl who had accidentally awakened a larger power.

     @3hu @Yukari_Kajiwara @Groomschild :cirno_stare2: Not entirely. There's a good chunk of youkai like Kogasa that live off of people in a completely different sense (their fear and emotions). If you were to consider the fairies yokai, then they live only off of nature existing, not needing sustenance. Quite a number of them have special needs, not just eating people. We have barely any who eat people compared to those who don't. Yukari's whole thing with outsiders is only an issue for a small number of named yokai, and it's been stated people have escaped to become a human villager or get back through the border before. You also have to remember that the bigger part of keeping these youkai alive is having people believe they exist, knowing about them, and fearing them, which was the main point of Gensokyo.

     @Yukari_Kajiwara @Groomschild @Iffine yokai eat humans. The only reason you don't see it in the games is because they made a promise to only eat people from the outside world that are spirited away into gensokyo by yukari.

     Another idea I'm real fond of is the idea Reimu cares about fairies, and enjoys company with youkai and others much more than she lets on. It's fun to watch her run around and act super strong, or like she hates youkai, but it seems so much more like she'd get along with them than she would any normal human. Touhou just always seems to fit better when characters act cute and dumb rather than any of the dark interpretations of Gensokyo.

     I've always found it cute the idea that Marisa acts like a caretaker and sort of big sister to the Three Fairies of Light. Hell, she does so multiple times in their manga, helping them with a problem or just playing around with them.
