I have heard rumblings that it may indeed be the start of #bridemonth today. As such I shall repost some recent favorite bridal Suwako images. :flan_love: She is so amazingly cute.
@installgentoo Reimu always seems a quite wild-card choice for romance. She's got all the skills and desires of a good wife yet most people's view of her in popularity isn't within romantic views even with her popularity as a main character. Give the poor shrine maiden some love too!
@SuperSnekFriend :flan_think: I wonder if the energy of the summer for a fairy also increases their romantic desires too. Perhaps fairy weddings are commonly held in these months.
@Ronnie21093@poopernova All sites will die one day. Pixiv will eventually stop hosting images, and there's a chance he may no longer have them all stored on his drive when that day comes. It's already extremely difficult to obtain most images on Twitter, never mind the fact said images are often hyper-compressed by the site. Personal archives can die at a moments notice, and that's if those with a personal archive are ever even willing to share. An artist fighting against archival is welcoming oblivion, wishing to be forgotten with the flow of time. :flan_yea:

DunkagMore meaningless thought posts. This time about fantasy as a genre, kind of. I think one of the things I admire most about partial fantasy, full fantasy, and to an extent some sci-fi settings is how form can take precedence over function thanks to the world having more loose rules. A common example is always the more showy outfits in fantasy games. Bikini Armor in reality would be deadly and worthless but a fantasy world where armor has magical effects on top of normal defense allows for this fun aspect. The reason I got to thinking about this is long hair. Specifically, impractically long hair. I like a girl with super long hair however without bending aspects or reality the hair becomes a pain with no upside. Within a fantastical setting though? A girl with long hair could naturally have an ability which consistently keeps the hair from ever being a nuisance. Magic could be used for such a purpose too.
Anyways there's no real meaning to this rant. I guess the point is that I hate those who create modern fiction with settings where form over substance can exist and never use said setting.

DunkagDefinitely a bit of a cold take but it came to mind as 自由への賛歌 came up in my playlist again. I think Kishida Kyoudan & The Akeboshi Rockets' Touhou arranges are better than their anime OP stuff. There's something about the tone of Touhou tracks the group hits just right to properly give an active feeling. So, Maidens' Capriccio. A damn good track with a fanmade PV that is absolutely rad. Definitely one of the standout tracks. Of course the aforementioned Aya collab track with RD-Sounds still remains my favorite overall. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aaNPn70htqs
Now this game is lacking in that manner. RPG mechanics have been added, which is fine I guess. However the Scarlet Devil Mansion commentary has messed with the game a bit. They will nonstop keep popping in with bare-bones comments or solutions to puzzles. Their suggestions and favor really don't seem to mean much of anything right now. Situations where you can choose who you add favor to often end the same way regardless of choice. Providing solutions to puzzles wasn't a joke by the way, early on a simple puzzle relating to an enemy type is presented and a solution is nearby. Originally it didn't elaborate on that because it figured you were smart enough to understand enemy weakness after being shown. Now the SDM characters chime in to say "wow, enemy is weak to that."
Despite calling leveling fine earlier, I am actually mixed on the mechanical implementation. Choosing a SDM character to side with for influence and what you receive is fine but I also feel that it takes away from the pure dice gameplay of the first demo. It made it so the player could be backed into a corner and have to find another way out of a situation. Now the player can be over-prepared just by performing a few actions and getting a level. https://store.steampowered.com/app/3338790/Marisa_of_Liartop_Mountain_Demo/

DunkagThis is a meaningless thought but it's something that hit my mind and I want to post. :cirno_think: I feel like of all the science fiction ideas and inventions out there, the one that is appreciated the least is synthetic alcohol. It's always a footnote or an offhand mention. However the existence of synthetic alcohol is such an important thing for a space-faring society. It'd be bad for any on-duty crew members to get drunk during their free time, and space flights could last months or years depending on post. An artificial solution that has far less of the power while still providing an acceptably recoverable from amount of drunkenness and keeping the flavor is a perfect solution.
Of course real alcohol would still have to be legal, otherwise the setting starts dipping into dystopia. Getting synthetic alcohol though is such an important task that seems so minor. It's the smaller things like that which give me immense respect for older Star Trek and such science fiction works. Though any true alcoholic would still dislike the stuff.
