      @feditips Although sometimes you’ll see people you don’t follow, have no hashtags, and otherwise wouldn’t be in your Home feed. You’ll likely scroll right past it, and at this stage, nothing in your immediate environment is on fire, so you just shrug and scroll on… ;)

      @Bluedepth

      Weird! Do you have any examples of this?

      @gunther

      I think if it showed all replies from all follows, it would overwhelm the Home timeline with mostly-irrelevant stuff?

      Having said that, I guess relevance depends on what kind of accounts you follow?

      @feditips Thanks for sharing this! A bit unintuitive that replies from follows don't appear on the Home timeline.

      @opal @Bluedepth

      Ahhh, yeah, good point. That could be it?

      PeerTube video posts for example hide their tags.

      @feditips @Bluedepth hi there! I know of at least one reason why this might happen - basically, there can be hashtags in the post but outside of the post body, and Mastodon doesn't display them. they probably *are* getting pulled from a tag you follow, it's just that the tag itself is invisible to you! (the one time i've seen this it was spam, ymmv)
