BowserNoodle ☦️ (bowsacnoodle@poa.st)'s status on Wednesday, 09-Aug-2023 05:05:40 JST BowserNoodle ☦️ @chudwave @peemasons @Paultron I want a mild hybrid with smol battery or capacitor. Dodge was putting them in their truggs without badging as such for obvious reasons. Gets a bit more mpg and it's a car battery sized launch only config. -

BowserNoodle ☦️ (bowsacnoodle@poa.st)'s status on Wednesday, 09-Aug-2023 05:38:21 JST BowserNoodle ☦️ @peemasons @chudwave @Paultron Honda used “hybrid” as a performance enhancer way before we had a Tesla or any of the other memewagons. The Accord hybrid was 0-60 at 6.6 stock and minor performance upgrades would take it into the high 5s. Not bad for something pulling high 30s mpg and still comfy. I’m excited for what the Japanese are going to put out in the next few years.

BowserNoodle ☦️ (bowsacnoodle@poa.st)'s status on Wednesday, 09-Aug-2023 05:46:58 JST BowserNoodle ☦️ @pyrate @Paultron @chudwave @peemasons I used to dog on hydrogen fuel cell tech, but it's probably the best way to go. We can generate hydrogen super easily and its storage, while volatile, doesn't have the dangers of lithium or other battery tech. The cool advancements in electric motors work just great via fuel cells provided we can get them to the right size. I'm picturing nanogalvanic alloy powder with an exhaust system that goes back into the fuel tank to deposit most of the water emissions for reuse. That would allow a controlled rate of reaction and effectively the lightest possible low pressure tank. -

pyrate (pyrate@nicecrew.digital)'s status on Wednesday, 09-Aug-2023 06:36:38 JST pyrate Anything can happen, it may be a valid solution for certain types of transport in the future and definitely a technology we should perfect. Schizo-tangent but the best air balloon concepts could be used to terraform Venus. -

BowserNoodle ☦️ (bowsacnoodle@poa.st)'s status on Wednesday, 09-Aug-2023 06:40:44 JST BowserNoodle ☦️ @pyrate @Paultron @chudwave @peemasons So they want to capture the CO2 from Venus' atmosphere and sequester it into something else? Isn't there a bunch of methane there that'll likely erode into co2 from solar radiation? -

pyrate (pyrate@nicecrew.digital)'s status on Wednesday, 09-Aug-2023 06:40:45 JST pyrate Yes, artificial sun shading and atmo-seeding projects. Most of the solar shields would still need to be in space. The point of the balloons are to provide massive platforms to precipitate the CO2 off from the top. -
