   Sea transport is the most energy *efficient* transport we've got, not the opposite! And hydrogen's energy density is staggeringly *low*. (Also, it diffuses through metal if gaseous, and embrittles metal if liquefied. It's totally impractical which is why after 70 years it's mostly used in exotic roles such as exoatmospheric space flight.)
