     MRF's aren't plugins you load at runtime or something, they are literal code files compiled together into one single executable

     Even WordPress plugins fall under the (A)GPL, so MRF certainly does too.
     
     However only the copyright holder can take action, not the general public. MRF was invented by Kaniini: https://git.pleroma.social/pleroma/pleroma/-/merge_requests/112 So Kaniini and Lain hold the copyright.
