     @Mondobizarrro weeeeeeeee There are so many correct ways to answer this.

     Try hanDover, if you really like it, go for mythmaker, if it doesn’t knock your socks off they have many other sounds (and bands).

     If ur going for metal sounds, check out Rabies (Al Jourgenson of Ministry is on this one).

     The Greater Wrong of the Right has got some very strange and vivid contemporary production and approaches to it. Too Dark Park is a deeply threatening & organic experience. Earlier stuff like Mind The Perpetual Intercourse has some early 80’s hip-hop vibes only like fucking scraggled to shit and back.

     I’m holding myself back with all my might from talking at length about every single album because each one might be their best to different people for really good reasons, but that’s a slice of some of the broader sounds/eras…

     If I don’t hit send now I’ll rewrite the whole fucking post

     I noticed if i wanna collect this shit on vinyl only their older albums have affordable releases like bites and vivisectvi. Ig those are also good?

     @kittenlikeasmallcat @Mondobizarrro hmm well personally my favorite is probably Too Dark Park followed by VIVIsectVI. maybe I'm just kinda basic idk, I like their stuff that feels the most EBM. but I also just really like Too Dark Park as an album in general, might be one of my favorite industrial albums

     I used to have mythmaker on vinyl. Oh those were good times.

     Yes Absolutely Bites is very early and you can kind of see the gears turning on what they wanted to do as well as on Back & Forth, it’s enchanting and terrifying. The Process is sort of a trauma drowned mourning for Dwayne, (transition would have saved her and everyone fucking knows it.) It’s their last effort (a dizzy, abortive eulogy) before the Doomsday festival reunion. I might say VIVIsectVI is also the point at which they came into their own - or is the era where they learned, due to the tour associated with it, but Rabies being the point at which it crystallized is an equally valid point, since it’s got more well known songs on it, like Tin Omen specifically. Down In It is 100% a rip-off of Dig It lol.

     I figure the only way I can give a unique answer is by suggesting the most ohGr-esque album, hanDover, because it’s somewhere between approachable, with some of the shredded warped and digested pop sensibilities of Ogre’s ‘solo’ work like in Village and also shows off some really real clusterfuckage with tracks like Noisex and the unhinged Rx-informed Brownstone.

     The main changes between pre and post doomsday SP is that Rave got “better” at producing, and Ogre and cEvin had time apart to make their own stuff and not want to strangle each other (jk jk this is a joke i am joking they love each other this is a joke).

     @kittenlikeasmallcat i love how this the only difference between you and my irl friend over SP is HanDover. he goes "the only SP album i wouldnt really recommend is HanDover, its alright just that Ogres solo career overshadows it" he also has a bumper sticker of their post reunion logo on the back of his car apparently

     @Mondobizarrro I’ve painted it onto the back of the hood of my hoodie. I have a big ass TDP logo tattoo in a very visible place, they also experimented with a simplified version for hanDover and Weapon, which by the way Weapon extremely is so fucking good. They learned that Guantanamo Bay was using low bitrate rips at extremely high volumes of SP songs to torture people, so they made a CD about it and sued the govt for 666 million or thousand r smthn. It was going to include torture instructions in the case, but that idea got scrapped.

     @Mondobizarrro All my shitposts are real and all my realposts are shit and I’m primarily motivated in life not to erase the distinction but to drive it into confounded obsolescence.

     But yea. Ogre also did an interview about it on like CNN or MSNBC at some point about it but I can’t track it down rn.
