@lina The level of naming an OS after a kernel is unreal.
The kernel, Linux is mostly irrelevant, as the steam deck runs the systemd OS, although you can call it systemd/Linux.
@Narbray >most people also don't know that android has a linux kernel even though it is different.
The version of Linux Android uses and the versions typically used on systemd/Linux are the same - Android just tends to use really outdated versions with more proprietary drivers grafted on.
As for GNU/Linux, too many users refer to GNU as "Linux", while at the same time not referring to Android as "Linux".

@Narbray hey, it can be linux technically all it wants, but if you ask them if they're using linux, they'll probably draw a blank on you and you'll have to explain to em that steam deck runs on steamos which is an arch fork

most people also don't know that android has a linux kernel even though it is different.

@Narbray i mean, does it even count as linux users if they're using the steam deck?
most of them don't even realize it runs linux

@lina I'm not sure what repeating the name of a proprietary kernel without even correct capitalization is meant to do.
