     But for English… Canadian English is almost neutral to me somehow.

     @filipobecerra I see the occasional tablespoon thing in cooking here in France but otherwise it's all in liters (typically cL or mL). Cups as a unit are pretty much unheard of.

     @lanodan It makes sense, France invented the metric system, that must influence a lot. In South America, products are also labeled with metric units, but it is common for recipe books to indicate cups, spoons and teaspoons as units of measure.

     All my Mom's Dutch cookbooks measure ingredients by weight for non-liquids (but using units of mass. #NerdPedantry)

     She had this marvellous litre-sized measuring cup with different graduations by weight for different foods, like flour, sugar, shredded coconut.

     It was conical, smaller at the base than at the top, so measuring small quantities was more precise than measuring large ones.

     Sadly, the plastic got grotty and brittle over its 60 year life, so it is no more.

     @bobjonkman @filipobecerra Conical measuring cup seems like a pretty good idea, weird that I've never seen that.
     (I typically just use a beer ecocup here, some have common enough graduations)
