But I do think that buying a new petrol powered car in the year 2023, with all the environmental chaos currently unfolding, is a form of climate denial.
One might not be an outright denier in thoughts and words, but actions speak volumes.

@arinbasu1 @goatsarah and car share schemes! They're actually a very elegant solution to the gaps unfilled by other modes of transport.
If I'm allowed a tiny brag, my family and I have managed 12 years since the last time I owned a car thanks to bikes, semi functioning public transport and car shares for the city. Car rentals for longer trips out of town.

100% Agree on the issues around parking and road infrastructure across European cities. Just wanted to highlight there isn't enough raw material in the ground, nor mining nor refining capacity to create one complete generation of electric cars to replace ICE on the road. EVs are a bad LARP designed to save the automobile industry, not the environment.
There is no one solution it varies by city. But it often starts with public transport.

With all these and more considerations, there is a space to redesign urban spaces and mass rapid transit system including building around people’s need to travel and issues around accessibility.
