     @jihadjimmy I see a bunch of 0x01D159 characters, as it seems Tor Browser doesn't support those characters (intentionally?).
     
     I believe it's kind of correct behavior to just refuse to render clearly incorrect character sequences and show the character code instead.

     All the ones I tested do, specially the characters on my nick.
     
     The main reason I have this broken nickname is so that when people complains about it and sends a screenshot, I can guess what operating system they're using and judge them for it.

     It could be that your username relies on proprietary fonts to render "correctly".

     As far as I am aware, there's not a single piece of proprietary software on my KGPE-D16s that has been installed by me.

     I can guarantee it doesn't require nonfree fonts, I don't have anything proprietary installed on Debian beyond one single blob and Trisquel Minimal also can display it out of the box. It must be a font that is part of a package other than GNU unifont.
