    @charlie_root @dcc speaking of ff..I've noticed that music sounds better played from ff browser than same file playing in mpv :cirno_shrug:

    Maybe because when uploaded it changes format to webm that has better quality than an mp3.. but webm played in mpv still not better than playing it in the browser (don't know if chromium does the same trick like ff)

    At first thought it's a thing related to the volume, but no, it's webm being better played in browser.

      🤔 mybe you like more tone/bass while I like some higher treble, tones of high frequency or range.

      I know also when you're young the ear perceive better high freq

      But because I'm not that young my ear needs more of those high freq..idk I'm not a sound engineer just my best guess..

      The human ear here's really well in the midrange, so it's usually pulled down in most mastering. In mixing too, but that's a track by track, instrument by instrument finery. If you leave the midrange too high, it'll drown out both ends of the spectrum. It's what makes stuff sound "boxy." If something isn't sounding right on whatever ever device, I'd eq there first.

      that's why at16-20 yo we like listening music more...there are some harmonics that we stop hearing them as cool as when young

      I want to go in my studio and do a sweep on monitors designed to put out clean frequencies. I was doing it on my phone. Not the best speakers tbh. My wife is asleep though, and I have insomnia tonight. 😩

      I wear ear plugs when cutting the grass because loud sounds bother me. At least I have good vision and don't need glasses. You win some, you lose some. 🤷

      I've actually found that for playing music, plugs plus cans actually work well together. They each block out different frequencies, so together, they almost return the sound to normal, just quieter.
