Well driving sucks in both, but I think you’d hate LA more. You don’t understand the degree of narcissism.

Not really I just know they drive like assholes.

The wannabe movie star restaurant workers thing is definitely true, and super annoying. I think it’s ok to pursue your dreams but almost all of them are completely delusional. They’re basically movie star trannies, it’s never going to happen.

I've only spent a week in each. L.A. was in a weird hostel filled with wannabe movie stars and restaurant workers .. and bed bugs. New York was on a work trip for a vendor training, with a hotel room that was more than a month's pay in a week.
It's a tough call ... but I think if I was forced to live in either, it would be .... no I can't do it. With both of them I'd make for the border and die trying to get out.

I've been to NY 6 times and CA 5.
CA is beautiful, but the people are garbage.
NY is actually pretty ballin. I like the flatiron district the best.
The cost is horrendous though...
You'd think there would be lots of dindus but they actually police the city pretty heavily. Last time I was there (2021) I was out until like 5 am by the Empire State Building and never felt unsafe.

They’re both ok to visit, and California is nice. New York isn’t really nice at all imo, well sort of I guess. But spending a lot of time in either esp with locals is totally different.

It’s a mix of both, it’s terrible. There are a lot of ppl like that and it’s like watching someone’s dream crumbling before their eyes, and all of the coping and seething. It’s painful.

“I spend my time in major cities being a typical tourist”. I know. But yeah, your time is better spent in California because of that.

I spend my time in New York going to restaurants, museums, plays, musicals and other things. I don't talk to locals. Or I spend the evenings at bars chatting with people.
Though, I have seen a man shit in a bush in Central Park.
California is beautiful, it really is. I did some red wood stuff when I was there last year and I'm dying to go back. I love the trees man.
Also, I'd love to see Alcatraz.

It’s worse tbh, and it’s going to get even worse gauging by how things are now.
