Getting only posts from influencers on my Threads timeline, trying to out-mid each other at gaming the algorithm.
I do follow people and I see nothing from them, presumably because it’s so boring on there for them that they don’t post.

Hoping that at least some people (who aren’t on and don’t want to use Mastodon) will start using it and Threads adds ActivityPub support as promised so I can follow them from over here.
@thomasfuchs They’re planning on introducing a followers only timeline, I’m hoping it becomes more usable then
@thomasfuchs muting and blocking helps, but doesn’t fix it completely.
FWIW, the dumb algo has reconnected me with folks I haven’t seen online in years. For me it’s a net benefit.
@jesselamb yeah I was hoping to see people I haven’t in a while, since moving off Twitter
@amy @jesselamb I’m getting tons of Christian/cult content now
@thomasfuchs @jesselamb actual lol
@amy @thomasfuchs Your social graph is very important to us. Please stay on the line…
@thomasfuchs @jesselamb it ain’t connecting me with shit 😩
@thomasfuchs @amy Heed the call, Thomas. What could go wrong?
@jesselamb @amy The last one I blocked as some dude baptizing “witches”
@thomasfuchs @amy fair block, “baptizing witches” is a very bad thing, if history is any indication.
@thomasfuchs I'll be surprised if anyone wants to federate with threads when they allow libsoftiktok and the rest of the right wing garbage
