Notice how "This airline screwed me" posts just don't fly on Mastodon? Yes, accidental, silly pun but there is something about this place that bitching just don't work as well. I *think* this is good? Yet there are things to be done in this world so I still want information, insights, and paths to action. Just saying the "OMG factor" seems dialed down.

Joel Webber (j15r@hachyderm.io)'s status on Sunday, 09-Jul-2023 00:14:48 JST Joel Webber I agree it does feel more "feature" than "bug", if you want to focus more on learning and conversation than complaining.
Though to @thomasfuchs' point, there's some utility in having a place where big brands have someone listening. I recently had to resort to Twitter to get anyone at Air Canada to help me with a giant pile of lost baggage...

The lack of brands and the (much more controversial) lack of QTs makes this a 'less shame encouraging' place.
Ofc, QTs can also very helpful, not trying to start THAT debate... My point is that the value of redressing power imbalances is a double edged sword.
