@honkwerx @d0c40r0 @mushroom_soup Because metricucks are awful [alleged] humans who deserve all of the suffering it is possible to inflict.

@cum_man @Nou @Alex_Fog @Elliptica @d0c40r0 @honkwerx @mushroom_soup that's why we're smarter, because we do things the hard way on purpose, to learn gooder.

@Nou @Elliptica @Alex_Fog @d0c40r0 @honkwerx @mushroom_soup do you still use inches in america when you do geometry in school? i imagine that would make it more difficult. its very organized when everything is based on a 0-10 system

@Elliptica @Nou @Alex_Fog @d0c40r0 @honkwerx @mushroom_soup so real☝️ also as a little side note we actually use feet in europe too for carpentry (and probably more)

@cum_man @Elliptica @Alex_Fog @d0c40r0 @honkwerx @mushroom_soup Yeah, and this is the reality. Despite metricucks pretending like they believe it is superior, outside of a lab it gets entirely thrown out the window because it is entirely impractical for any real world usage.

@Nou @Alex_Fog @mushroom_soup @honkwerx @d0c40r0 a third of a cm is 3.33mm and no normal person ever needs to measure something thats less than a millimeter. 1mm is 0.03 inches

@cum_man @Alex_Fog @d0c40r0 @honkwerx @mushroom_soup >a third is 0.33
Oh, so I guess just fuck any semblance of precision (the one thing metricucks pretend their system is superior at.)

@Nou @cum_man @Alex_Fog @d0c40r0 @honkwerx @mushroom_soup Neither system is more precise than the other. The advantage of metric is that it's easy to convert units, and the powers of ten rule makes it to scale units.
But it also means that the unit scale isn't always useful for people. 'dm' 'cm' are not as useful of a scale as 'ft' 'in' are. The latter are based on human proportions, which makes it easier for us to visualize without a tool. It's why base lengths that were foot and inch like were so common around the world. 3 feet (m), 4 in (dm), and .4in (cm) are not as nice of a scale as yard, foot, inch. Metric has lots of issues like this, which is why even scientists are forced to invent non-SI units (ergs, barns, janskys, angstroms to name a few).

@Alex_Fog @mushroom_soup @honkwerx @d0c40r0 Metricucks when you ask them for a third of a measurement (literally the second most commonly needed fraction.)
