   I see this extraordinary session as a trial run. In the past, Democrats have tried to thread the needle between advancing a progressive agenda and not spooking the slushy, half-conservative political middle.

   This time, they went •all in• on getting shit done.

   Will it work? Will the changes stick? Will it be political death? A whooooole lot of people are watching.

     I’ve heard 1.5 million complaints over the years along the lines of “If Dems really cared, they’d have done X, Y, and Z!!” Those complaints are often justified. Even when they ignored political reality, they were fair. The Democratic Party keeps leaving good stuff on the table.
