@pixelfed When you say "migrate" does that mean migrating just followers or also migrating images, like you've done from Instagram? I'm very interested in this, but I've uploaded so many images to a specific instance, and find it hard to move away if I must manually upload them all again.

@pfefferle No, our implementation is a bit different and uses a centralized service we maintain.
I'll be writing more about this in a future https://pixelfed.blog post, and perhaps we should migrate our blog to Wordpress with your amazing plugin!

@gmate8 We are using .org for our project website already, it's not commercial but when non tech savvy people think about website urls, .com is the most commonly known, so we think it's a good fit and we're not using it currently.

@pixelfed Are you sure .com is the best TLD? It suggests that this Pixelfed instance is commercial in some way. I think .org or .net would be a better, more accurate choice.

@pixelfed a lot of nay sayers here, and while i understand their reservations, and agree with the idealism. ...for a wider reach and adoption, .com is the correct move. it's unfortunately just how the average person views the internet. websites just aren't taken serious or trusted by the greater whole unless they are on a .com domain, wikipedia is not a food example as it is just old enough to be able to continue its existence on .org, but, it's an exception, not the rule.
