  @MechaSilvio @Moon @Zerglingman @captain_arepa @p @graf @threat @shibaomedia Basically here's what's going on. I think this is a continuation of Cornbread not feeling well last week as well. I think he started to feel better but then he hurt it again. Over the weekend Cornbread was having trouble just getting up and down stairs and couldn't jump into chairs. He seemed to be doing better today but I took him to the vet today since they'll be closed tomorrow and things were pretty bad over the weekend.
  
  Cornbread did really good at the vet. I know the physical exam hurt a lot but he held it together. The doctor said he wasn't holding his tail right and he found the place that was injured which is about 1/4 the way up his back from his hips. There are no physical marks on his skin so it wasn't a sneak bite or anything likely too serious. He probably just landed from a jump bad.
  
  The vet said nothing would likely show up since it seams to be soft tissue so he gave him a steroid shot to help give him a boost and said to take it easy and no outside for a few weeks. He also said if he doesn't improve within a week to bring him back and they'll run more tests and figure out what's going on but the vet seemed pretty confident that this will be enough.
  
  Cornbread already seems to be doing better. I think that shot is really helping him to feel better.

  However he was in so much pain over the weekend I felt so bad for him. He was having trouble just making it up and down the stairs on his own. So I was having to carry him up and down, put him up on things he wanted/needed to get to, etc. Hell, he was barely able to get in the litterbox by himself. And his meows when it was really hurting him bad really broke my heart and made me feel helpless.
  
  And this was after he had already started to get better. So, I'm going to make sure he doesn't push himself too much again.

  (Incidentally, chemo's working on her, she's back up to ~65lbs., 75 is normal for her, but she got under 45.)

  I know in humans it's pretty safe and literally impossible to overdose on orally since the intestine has a limited rate at which it can absorb it. Not sure if it's the same for cats tho.

  When I got home from work Cornbread is in worse shape than when I left. I know he's hurting. There has to be something I can do to help.
  
  I tried calling the vet but they've already closed for the day and won't be back open until Wednesday.
  
  Is there anything OTC that would be safe to give him in a smol dose? He's right at 10 lbs.

Yesterday he was up, running around (literally), and begging to go outside. However he was still not taking certain jumps and I could tell he was still in some pain.
  
  Today he isn't really showing any signs of pain and REALLY wants to go outside and play. I'm surprised on how quick the turnaround is. I guess the steroid shot did help speed along the healing. Still, I know it might not be hurting him anymore but I know it's not all the way healed yet. If I let him outside the chance of him overexerting himself and hurting it again are high. It needs more time to heal but this, "take it easy; doctor's orders," is going to get old fast. Hell, it already is. Cornbread is a high energy cat! :trump_dance:

I *think* Tylenol but you should verify this.) Vets will give them single doses of valium or oxy without a lot of hassle. Usually just a warm blanket and put his food close by and hang out so he doesn't get worried.

Usually a smol dose (around 10mg) every 48 hours or so (their body metabolites Aspirin much slower than a human's). However, the line between a therapeutic dose and an overdose is pretty smol so I didn't want to chance it.
