So, the trans genocide, in America, has kicked off, it seems. My partner and I have a couple of spare rooms in our house, in Alberta, Canada.
We would like to open these rooms to queer individuals, from America, who need to GTFO.
We have two big dogs, and we both have some mental health issues. As much as I wish not to discriminate against people addicted to hard drugs, I am approaching my third year of sobriety; and, I cannot risk relapse - so, I cannot offer housing to those in

@JohnShirley2023 @msprout @SallyStrange @Blort there are few, if any, treatments in mental health which are as efficacious for the alleviation of suicidal ideation as HRT, and associated gender affirming actions, are proven to be, for the purpose of treating Gender Dysphoria. If you are preventing access to this treatment, you are knowingly dooming a large percentage of treatable patients to death from preventable causes. It's genocide.

@msprout @SallyStrange @fcktheworld587 @Blort Yes HRT is an important building block of identity, but how it connects with genocide is not clear. A small number of people--apparently with *very poor guidance or abandonment from their peers* may commit suicide over delays in getting HRT. That is likely to be, in most cases, something *supported* by the idea that HRT denial is genocide. HRT denial is an error, one that can be corrected. But it's not genocide.

Right, that's genocide. Theoretically you're right. But denying trans people access to such treatment has several genocide-related results:
-increased likelihood of suicide
-increased likelihood of nonfatal but disabling medical complications
-increased likelihood of being "clocked" by bigots which then results in:
-increased likelihood of assault
-increased likelihood of job loss, eviction, etc.

@fcktheworld587 @Blort what do you mean by erasure? If you mean access to hormone treatments, it is quite possible to be trans without a hormone treatment, many were and are, it's just not ideal. But access to hormone treatment will come for those who need it--it's just delayed by fascist jerks. If you mean the horrid legislating to pressure trans people from other directions, quashing their identities legally and many other ways--yes, that's a kind of erasure. Needs to be set right.

@JohnShirley2023 @Blort re: trans genocide, I'm speaking about trans people being attempted to be legislated into erasure, which is currently underway in some states. Whether or not you agree with what I see it as being is of very little consequence to me, or my conscience. Regardless of whether or not we agree, I wish you all a good day. Peace and love

@Blort @fcktheworld587 Basically I'm with Naomi Klein: the danger of a racist theocracy or another variant of fascism is very real. They're banning books in some places; they're oppressing minorities including trans.They've packed the Supreme Court with right-wingers. DeSantis is a dangerous demagogue. Antisemitism is on the rise. But Trump was rejected by the nation in 2000, and antifascists in America are working hard for democracy. The violence against Jews, LGBT is sporadic but terrifying.

@Blort @fcktheworld587 I meant there is no concerted giant plan to wipe them out in a concentration camp, there's no Auschwitz. But I'm aware that violence breaks out against LGBT people of all kinds. There will be sporadic attacks and the people who attack trans folk must be stopped.

Early stage, vs late stage, but the same pattern.
In the early rise to power of the Nazi party, there were no concerted plans for deathcamps for marginalized groups yet, either.
It was preceded though by hate campaigns, just like now, with totalitarian ideology, just like now, which inspired groups and odd individuals to attack, just like now and a rise of political acceptance of hating marginalized groups, just like now.
How far to go before calling it so?

"No one is planning to kill them."
Today in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, a guy walked into a university class, then confirmed that it was the class teaching about expressions of gender identity and when the lecturer confirmed it, started trying to stab everyone.
I dunno, but that sounds pretty "planning to kill them" to me.
Granted, all the students likely weren't all trans, but it seems he was determined to kill the people he deemed as the "source" of it.

@fcktheworld587 I do think the word genocide is mischosen. No one is planning to kill them. I do not think that the regrettable plan to deny them hormone treatments is lethal. I just think it's wrong.
