     It isn't always easy, but it's well worth it! You have to open your heart and share your life. That makes you vulnerable.

     It's easier in a social setting like a church choir, club or community theater, where you can meet people similar to yourself in a fun and relaxed setting.

     Personal chemistry is real and unmistakable. It helps bind your friendship. Avoid bars, Tinder, and other fake environments!

     I have a bizarre, but sincere suggestion... go to an AA meeting, have a cup of coffee, and just LISTEN. Most cities have meetings specifically for the gay community. It costs nothing and you have no requirement to share your feelings.

     You will find people from all walks of life, some have destroyed their lives because of the addiction, and are desperate to meet new friends. The thing they need the most is a wholesome activity like camping or day at the range. It can't hurt!
