   * YouTube or Streaming: lots of constant work, don't wanna dox myself
   * online courses: I may not make psych courses before I finish. NLP courses everyone and their dog already does
   * selling handcrafted items is not passive enough
   * writing blogs or whatever makes no money today
   * tech reviews: would be cute like the Thinkpad lady, but I lack the funds, expertise, equipment, connection and audience
   * being a presenter / moderator: did that twice now and it was barely worth it.
   * voiceover stuff: barely pays

     Soap literally is possibly the easiest one of the all imo. You only need to read a bit about chemistry/human health.

     :blobcatpain: this business is awful. i still don't know how anyone gets over the zero viewer hell.
     
     well, back in the day you just had to treadmill out youtube videos. since those stay in the wild you could get people by playing obscure games and a tiny trickle of viewers come in through "wow you're the only person who plays blobmonger" but with streams like.. i dunno how you go from 0 views to not zero views.

     If you want my advice, pick a career in a field that is in high demand such as ICT or engineering, and roll with that. If you stick to psychology and get through the end of it then you'll probably make a comfortable salary as a licensed psychologist or better yet psychiatrist.

     @icedquinn @kaia Oh, it might have been my preview then. I was sad when viewership dropped again after I made enough for affiliate, but it seems to fluctuate, so I'm up a bit again. But yeah, you can't count on making minimum wage, even if you're actually entertaining, unlike me.

     i've had the most luck with mediums that are desegregated from time. the videos or product can just sit there for years until somebody *finally* comes by. but for deliberately doing any of it to a level that makes min wage.. no clue.

     @icedquinn @kaia Weirdly enough, I rarely ever had 0 viewers. Always at least one motherfucker viewing or so Twitch said. Eventually poached enough viewers from other channels I could go affiliate. Not that I will ever got more out of it than maybe a small trickle of additional income. More likely to lose money on it.

     @mangeurdenuage @kaia Soap production I specifically remember as being rather complicated from Dwarf Fortress. But I suppose it's easier in real life, when you don't have to gather fat by slaughtering an animal and extracting it. Conversely, a lot of stuff you can't make in Dwarf Fortress is going to be more complicated to make.
     
     If I was any more successful with streaming, I would use it to advertise products I make instead of advertising garbage. Vtuber fans being stinky, soap would be the ideal product to advertise. Imagine: soap packages with anime pictures on them. You would make the world a better place by making those weebs wash themselves! Free idea btw, I'm not allowed to earn any money aside from my apprenticeship with a below living wage.

     @besserwisser @kaia i've watched people who make ok money from streaming or youtubing. the thing is i just don't know how you go from zero to that.
     
     most things money related.. once you've already "made it" its infinitely easier to get bigger. you can play the success in to more success, get access and better advice etc.
