   My partner's parents have a huge ass dog that's suuuuper friendly and wants to play and jump at you. Like it's big enough to reach my face if he jumps on me.

   I'm scared of dogs, hardcore.

     @marta Awwww that's a shame but understandable though. I felt like that when my brother was repeatedly bitten in the face by a dog as a child.

     Have you been able to let them know? Just so they're aware and you're not left unattended or anything like that.

     @LevelUp yes yes, they know, they probably don't realize how bad it is but yeah, someone is always with me and they try to keep the dog away as much as possible. It feels a bit uncomfortable though because being scared of dogs this much is not that common (or at least not as socially understood like other animal phobias) I think and I feel like a weirdo.

     I'm so sorry about your brother, that sounds awful 😖

     Big hugs to you, it's a very real fear, it can make the heart race.

     because being scared of dogs this much is not that common

     You'd be surprised, people often cross the road when I walk my dogs and they're not big big, not like my brother's dog or others. It's an unspoken fear but more people have it than they'd like to admit.

     I've seen people scream and run away as well. It is rare but that has happened a few times, especially when going around a corner and someone with a phobia doesn't spot us straight away. (Looking up from their phones.)

     To be honest, it makes sense, neither the dog or stranger know each other so I totally understand the fear.

     It was and he was scared of dogs, until years later our cousin's dog was really nice to us. Then he wanted to get a dog to conquer his fears. A funny kid, he was.

     Big breaths, when the door's closed, the dog is away from you both and out of sight, I hope you will be able to have a good time. Sorry about the fear though, it's so hard. Take care and tell your partner some internet nerd said their art is cool. ty! :blobcathearthug:
